Catherine's tea party
For her birthday, Catherine wanted to have an old-fashioned tea party. So the girls dressed up and we served lunch and hot chocolate (instead of tea.)
Catherine and her winning Reflections painting
Catherine entered the Reflections contest at school and her painting won for her age division! The theme was, "My favorite place" and Catherine painted a picture of her picking tomatos in her Grandma's garden.
Gingerbread aprons second generation
Cath and Emma with Abby wearing aprons and dresses my mom made for us 25 years ago. They had a fun doll-cookie party with Grandma a few days before Christmas.
Christmas morning

David got a present!
I have to admit that I didn't buy any presents for David this year. Frankly, he wasn't expecting anything and I feel like we already have plenty of toys for him to enjoy. Catherine was really concerned about the fact that I didn't buy him anything, so she made him some alphabet cards. It was really sweet. And fortunately he at least got this present from Grandma, but as we all predicted (having seen it a few times in the past) he was most excited about playing with all the wrapping paper. :)
Happy Family on Christmas Eve
Aren't we cute? Besides being Christmas Eve, this was a special day in our family for other reasons - it was the day that Michael was put in the Bishopric (kind of like an associate pastor) at Church. Also, notice Spencer's styling outfit as it's probably the one and only time you'll ever see it. I saved it for Christmas and it was already too small. That little barrel chest was busting out of the vest. We decided he looked like a luchador in formal dress. (Also, I did not shoot my eye out with a new Red Ryder BB Gun. I had a sun-spot frozen and it scabbed over just intime for Christmas pictures!)
Christmas Eve program
The girls practiced their Christmas Eve performance at home for weeks before. They loved to dance to the THree Ships song from one of the Tabernacle Choir Christmas albums.
ginger bread!
Catherine: this year we got ginger bread suplies from uncle paul so we made a ginger bread house.

BYU Employee family party
After admiring Cosmo from afar for a long time and proudly practicing his cougar growl, Spencer was a little too starstruck when he finally got the chance to meet him in person.
